When it comes to Bohol tourist spots, the Chocolate Hills is always on the top of the list. A trip to Bohol isn’t complete without also seeing the world-famous tarsiers, make sure to drop by the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary. In terms of weather, December-March are the best months to visit Bohol because there’s not much rain. Just remember that late December and the Holy Week (which often falls between March and April) are peak seasons. April–July is preferable too, though expect periodic rains as the rainy season closes in. In July, Tagbilaran celebrates the Sandugo Festival, which commemorates the blood pact in 1565 between Spanish Explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Lord of Bohol Island Datu Sikatuna. The usual packages for Bohol tours are for three days and two nights, which is more than enough time if it’s your first time and you just want to visit the most popular sites. However, some packages span five days and four nights, which is ideal if you have the time to visit other places and try more activities.

Day tours are great for exploring one area or of Bohol or a specific location that offers several experiences. For instance, spend the whole day at Danao Adventure Park and try all of the extreme activities they have to offer, or stay in Panglao and visit a few good beaches. 

The provinces of Cebu, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Surigao, as well as the island of Camiguin, surround Bohol. All of these locations have pretty amazing destinations that are worth the visit, too!

Bohol is a relatively safe place with a low crime rate. What you’ll have to be cautious about are environmental emergencies like storms and earthquakes.

Locals speak the Boholano dialect of Cebuano Bisaya. Some also speak Tagalog and English. 

As of November 2018, the Bohol-Panglao International Airport officially replaced the old Tagbilaran Airport. It's 20-30 minutes from the city of Tagbilaran and only 5-10 minutes from Alona Beach and Danao Beach.

Tricycles and private cars or vans for hire are the best options to travel around Bohol. There are also motorbike rental. Vans and cars drive around the countryside tour visitors and hotel guests who have arranged for such services.

Many companies are offering rental cars and vans for visitors who want to drive around Bohol; some even provide packaged tours for tourists. 

Alona Beach is your best bet if you want to experience the nightlife in Panglao. There are bars and restaurants on the island that you sit in and have a drink, though most of them close at 10 PM.

The most convenient way to reach Tagbilaran from Cebu is via ferry, which may take 2 hours.
