Description

Discover Iloilo City’s historic sites, famous food stops, and other popular attractions when you join this tour. This half-day private sightseeing trip is perfect for anyone who wants a deeper insight into the city’s heritage and culture as it will take you to several tourist spots. This tour also comes with the assistance of a guide, entrance fees to all attractions, air-conditioned transfers, snacks, lunch, and a carbon offset certificate.

Your tour starts once you are picked up from your accommodation in Iloilo City. After getting settled in the vehicle, you will begin your day with a running tour of the Mandurriao District, where you will see the Megaworld Township, the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art, and the famous Iloilo Esplanade. You will next go on a running tour of the Jaro Millionaire’s Row. This district is famous for its mansions, earning Iloilo the title “The Mansion Capital of the Philippines.”

The Jaro Cathedral and its belfry is your next stop. The cathedral is the first one to be built on the island of Panay, having been finished in 1864. After exploring this religious site, you’ll head to Original Biscocho Haus and Original Deocampo Barquillos, where you can try biscocho and barquillos, two popular sweet snacks in Iloilo.

Leave enough room in your stomach as you’ll be having your lunch in Netong’s Original Special La Paz Batchoy. Finish your serving of special batchoy, a hearty noodle soup with pork, before enjoying coffee at Madge Cafe.

After filling up on local treats, you will continue your exploration of Iloilo with a running tour of Iloilo City Hall, Plaza Libertad, San Jose Church, Ker & Co. Building, Sunburst Park, the Provincial Capitol, and Calle Real. After seeing all these historic places, you’ll have a stopover at Roberto’s, where you can try some of their famous steam buns called siopao.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit National Museum Western Visayas, which is housed in the former Iloilo Provincial Jail. Inside, you will see several artworks and artifacts relating to the island of Panay. Next, you’ll head to Molo Church and Molo Mansion. The church is known as a feminist church as it is the only one in the Philippines with only female saints in its imagery. Molo Mansion, on the other hand, is a stunning ancestral house that is now a heritage museum.

Your last stop is Camina Balay na Bato, another ancestral house. The second floor of the house serves as a dining area where you can try Pancit Molo and native hot chocolate.

Before you are dropped off at your hotel, you will receive a digital carbon offset certificate, which shows that the carbon emissions from your tour were offset by the tour operator.
