Your guided tour begins after being picked up from your accommodation in Cebu City or Mactan Island. Once all set, your guide will then discuss the itinerary for the day as you make your way to your first destination.
The first stop is the iconic Lapu-Lapu Monument and Magellan’s shrine where the Battle of Mactan took place. The Lapu-Lapu monument is a 20-meter bronze metal statue in honor of Datu Lapu-Lapu, the first Filipino hero known for resisting the Spanish Colonization. Magellan’s shrine is a memorial tower where Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese explorer that introduced Catholicism in the country, was killed.
Afterward, you will be heading to Alegre Guitar Factory, home to the country’s best guitar craftsmen. Then, you will be moving to Magellan’s cross, a pavilion that houses a large wooden cross brought by Magellan when he first arrived in the Philippines.
You will be visiting more historic sites in Cebu as you head towards Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino, home of the original and oldest relic in the country. Next, you will see the Heritage of Cebu monument, a tableau of sculptures made from bronze, steel, and brass, depicting some of Cebu’s significant events in history.
From there you will proceed to the Yap San Diego house, a Chinese ancestral home turned into a museum, constructed in the 17th century. Then, you will be heading to the Taoist temple of Cebu. Built in 1972 by Cebu’s Chinese community, this picturesque attraction has a mini replica of the Great Wall of China which attracts both foreign and local visitors.
