Spend an enchanting day visiting centuries-old churches, scenic beaches, and an ancient mystical tree in Siquijor Island with this whole day tour. This package includes lunch, tour guide, private transport service, and entrance fees to attractions. The pick-up and drop off points are in Dumaguete, roughly 27km away from Siquijor island, with the Western Nautical Highway separating the two provinces.
To reach Siquijor Island from Dumaguete, you’ll need to travel by ferry boat, so it’s best to be at the port by 7:20 AM to ride the Oceanjet fastcraft going to Siquijor. The trip begins with a rolling tour of historical monuments, starting with the St. Francis de Assisi Parish and Bell Tower. Located outside of the port area, the structure is alternately called the Siquijor Shrine or the Siquijor Church and served as the town’s safe haven against pirates when it was erected in 1783.
Next on your itinerary, you’ll be heading to the town of San Juan toward the San Juan Macapilay Church. Built in 1863, it stands on a hill overlooking the town’s Capilay Spring Park. Nearby you’ll find the famous Balete Tree, an imposing 400-year-old tree rumored to have magical qualities and is said to be the centerpiece for the religious ritual performed by local shamans. After this, you’ll be headed for St. Isidore de Labrador Church and Convent. Otherwise known as the Lazi Church, it was established in 1884 and houses the Siquijor Heritage Museum.
You’ll then proceed to Cambugahay Falls, a multilayered waterfall with three tiers and a swimming hole with warm, crystal clear waters. After this, its time for a late lunch at the Triad Restaurant before heading off to your next attraction. Depending on how much time you have left, you have 3 options on what to do next: visit Paliton Beach, take some pictures at the iconic I Love Siquijor sign by the Boulevard, or go straight to the local stores for souvenir shopping. Before 4 PM, you’ll catch the 3:50 PM ferry onboard the Oceanjet fast craft going back to Dumaguete and call it a day.
