On the day of your tour, you will be picked up from an agreed-upon spot within El Nido. After settling in the vehicle, you will exit the El Nido town proper and make your way to barangay New Ibajay. As you approach the cave, you will find it towering over vast fields and groups of verdant trees in a lush valley called Dewil Valley. While the scene is already a picturesque sight to see, the real appeal of the place is located inside the limestone cavern.
At the entrance to the caverns are boards that explain the historical significance of both the cave itself and the artifacts that were excavated here. Among them are human remains that are said to have been from 9,000 years ago, evidence of stone tools, and earthenware. You will also come across bones of tigers that are believed to have lived thousands of years ago as well.
Depending on the weather, you may also opt to climb to the top of the cave. However, the rocks inside can be slippery, so make sure to practice extra caution when climbing. At the top, you will have a scenic view of the valley and the other nearby limestone formations.
