Description
Summary
Description
Immerse in the natural beauty of Nueva Ecija with this day hike to Mt. 387's summit (also called Mt Batong Amat) and a visit to the Aloha Falls. The trail leading to the peak is considered an easy climb, perfect for beginners and first-time hikers. This package already covers your transportation from Manila, all necessary fees, a 4x4 truck ride, and a personalized souvenir bag tag.
A designated driver will fetch you from your accommodation or your chosen pick-up point within Metro Manila or Cavite (1 pickup point only) in the late evening to ensure that you get to the jump-off point around sunrise. When you arrive at Nueva Ecija, you will also have enough time to eat an early breakfast. Make sure to pack your own meals, however, as food is not included in the package. When you're done, you will then head over to the registration site for a quick session on the safety precautions you need to follow during the climb.
Afterward, you will begin the ascent to the peak of Mt. 387, which is also known among locals as Mt. Batong Amat. The start of the trail is covered with verdant trees that provide fresh air as you hike. As you progress, the trees become more scarce and start giving way to lush plants and grass covering the mountain. When you finally arrive at the summit, you will find yourself overlooking nearby rolling hills also covered in tall grass. If you come here in the summer, the grass turns a shade of brown due to the heat, making these hills resemble the famous Chocolate Hills in Bohol province.
You can also take the time to rest here while admiring the view of the hills and the Caraballo Mountain range. Don't hesitate to bring out your camera as well to capture the panoramic scenes around you. From the summit, you will now make your way to the Aloha Falls but will first make a side trip to the Lovers' Tree, a lone tree by the peak. Here, you will have another chance to rest and take a couple of photos before continuing onto the falls.
Along the way to the cascade, you will pass by a bamboo forest as well. When you make your way through the forest, you will eventually reach the towering Aloha Falls. Feel free to take off your hiking shoes and go for a swim in the cool, running water as you relax here. You can also sit on the nearby rocks to have lunch after your refreshing dip.
Afterward, you will hop inside a 4x4 truck that will take you back to the jump-off point. Back at the registration site, you may also wash up and change before your driver transports you back to your pick-up point in Metro Manila or Cavite City.
