Discover the top attractions of Ormoc City in Leyte on this guided half-day tour. You will enjoy the convenience of a transport service, as well as a complimentary lunch while visiting the top sights of Ormoc City from historical, cultural, and serene nature spots. Ormoc City is called “Beauty by the Bay”. It is a well-deserved title since this charming city faces the equally stunning Ormoc Bay.

Your tour will start once your driver picks you up from your accommodation in Ormoc City. As you make your way to your first stop, your tour guide will discuss with you the day's itinerary.

Located in the province of Leyte, Ormoc City is a captivating place that has preserved a part of the country’s history through its best spots. During this tour, you will get the chance to admire the beautiful seascape from the Ormoc Bayfront Walking Plaza.

Another tourist spot you will be visiting is the Puente de la Reina, which directly translates to “Bridge of the Queen”. This beautiful cobblestone bridge is a remnant of the Spanish colonization in the city. Known as the oldest bridge in Ormoc, it was completed in 1861. During the Spanish Era, the bridge served as a docking area for boats of traveling merchants.

Just a few steps from Puente de la Reina is the old Ormoc City Hall. The old city hall now houses the Ormoc City Museum. Explore the museum and marvel at the Art Deco American Colonial architecture of the building. The museum is the perfect place to learn about the history and culture of Ormoc City.

Other important historical landmarks you will be visiting are the World War II Veteran’s Park and Centennial Marker, and the Philippine-Japan Friendship Marker. These sites commemorate the events of the Japanese Occupation in the Philippines.

You will also be stopping by the Flash Flood Memorial. This memorial features a sculpture that is built on the mass grave of the victims of the 1991 Flash Flood. Caused by Typhoon Oreng, the tragic flash flood devastated the city and took the lives of thousands. Be respectful as you walk around the memorial.

You will also be driving past the JICA Flood Mitigation Project and River Wall, which was built to prevent history from repeating itself. As the Philippines' development partner, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has built four bridges and three dams to mitigate floods and landslides in Ormoc City.

Aside from monuments that look back on tragic events that the province has been through, Ormoc is also home to beautiful structures that highlight the city’s rich culture. One of which is the charming St. Peter and Paul Church. This church features Spanish architectural design.

Similar to other cities in the Philippines, there is always a venue dedicated to festivities and social events in Ormoc. You will visit the Ormoc Superdome, a big auditorium that can accommodate up to 5,000 people.

You will also be visiting a Pineapple Plantation or Farm since Ormoc City is quite known for being home to "Queen Pineapples". They are smaller than the usual pineapples but they're sweet and juicy.

Be captivated by the charm of Ormoc City as you visit its scenic spots on this half-day guided tour. Check the availability by choosing a date.
