Description

Explore the bustling art scene and some top sightseeing spots of Baguio with this day tour. This eight-hour excursion is perfect for travelers who have a passion for art and are interested in learning about the region’s culture through visits to the Baguio city’s art centers and museums. This tour is inclusive of van transfers with hotel pick-up and drop-off, lunch, entrance and environmental fees, service of a tour guide, travel insurance, sanitation kit, and water.

The trip will begin at the Casa Vallejo hotel, one of the oldest institutions in the city. Designed with wood, galvanized iron, and sawali (woven bamboo), the hotel holds a rich history that dates back to 1909. In fact, the establishment was originally built as a dormitory by the Americans but was later converted into a hotel by Salvador Vallejo.

You will then hit the road and head to The Baguio Museum. There, you will get to further dive into Cordillera’s intricate past through the museum’s selection of artifacts and dioramas that detail the culture of the region’s six provinces. Its third floor even includes a collection of pictures and documents that tell of Baguio’s origins, from when it was first discovered to when it started to develop into a more urbanized setting.

You will also learn more about the region through a visit to the Museo Kordilyera. Known as the University of the Philippines’s Ethnographic Museum, this “living museum” showcases exhibits that feature the art and livelihood of the region’s indigenous groups.

After that, you will be transported to the Ili Likha Artist Village on Assumption Road. There, you will get to marvel at the colorful and whimsical architecture of the treehouse, which houses a variety of food hubs. The location is also home to the Balanghai ni Ikeng Theatre, a multi-purpose hall created by renowned Filipino director Kidlat Tahimik.

After that, you will be heading to the Easter Weaving Room. This is a factory site that lets you witness firsthand how traditional weaving is done in the region. You will even get to enter the weavers’ workstations to see how they transform ordinary material into colorful handwoven bags, clothing, and slippers.

Your next stop on this trip will be the Tam-awan Village. Home to seven Ifugao huts and two Kalinga houses, this destination gives you a glimpse into the lifestyle of these native groups as you can view the interior and exterior designs of the houses.

You will then head to the BenCab Museum on Asin Road. This museum holds National Artist Benedicto Cabrera’s collection of paintings and drawings through the years. It is also home to the artworks of other notable Filipino artists.

Finally, you will end the trip at the Ifugao Woodcarver's Village, wherein you can watch locals carefully shape wood into unique sculptures.

See firsthand all the exciting, artistic sites Baguio has to offer with this tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
