Top things to do in the Philippines
Discover all the adventures you can experience in the Philippines
Don your beachwear and join this getaway to one of the growing attractions of Bacolod – Manjuyod Sandbar. With its powdery white stretch of sand and crystalline waters, beach lovers will definitely enjoy a day tour here.
Your driver will pick you up within Bacolod City and take you to the neighboring town of Bais. This is the main entrance to the sandbar, where a boat will be waiting for you. Once you get your life vests on, you will head to Manjuyod Sandbar for your beach escapade.
The sandbar has been dubbed as the "Philippine Maldives," which may not be as glamorous but is much more than sufficient to satisfy your cravings for Vitamin Sea. This uncluttered white sand is nestled between Cebu and Negros Islands and will give you the best views of both islands. It is best to visit the sandbar in the early morning during low tide when it rises. What separates Manjuyod from the other beaches of the province is the small cottages sitting on poles in the sand bar and serving as humble lodgings for visitors.
While there are no fancy restaurants in the area, you can find a handful of vendors selling coconut and seafood, such as seashells, oysters, sea urchins, here. While in Manjuyod, feel free to lay a picnic mat on the sand and sunbathe while watching the open shore. The sandbar will also give you a magnificent view of the green mountains surrounding the area, providing a perfect backdrop for taking images. The waters are also perfect for snorkeling and swimming if you prefer those activities.
If you’re lucky, you might also be able to watch dolphins too. Before going home, you will be brought to Bongbong’s or Merci for your souvenir shopping.
