Prepare yourself for a day of heart-pumping activity in this private canyoneering trip in Cebu with a visit to Kawasan Falls. This adventure is becoming increasingly popular among locals and tourists alike, as you will have a chance to push your limits and test your endurance through rappelling, swimming, cliff diving, rock sliding, and passing through small caves in order to reach the end of the trail.
This private day trip will start when you are picked up from your hotel in Mactan or Cebu. You will be taken in a private vehicle to the town of Badian, south of Cebu City. Upon arrival, your local guide will give you a brief orientation of what to expect throughout the trek as well as other details about the activity, specifically some safety measures to keep the day fun and safe for everyone.
After the orientation, your guide will take you trekking through towering canyons and deep gorges. Be prepared to get wet, as you will wade through the rapids in the trail that stretches between the towns of Badian and Alegria.
The canyon offers a total of six main jumps plus some minor jumps along the way. The gorges vary in height as you go deeper into the trail, ranging from 2 meters to 30 meters high. Some parts of the trail require rappelling in order to hoist you down onto a rock from where you can cliff dive easier.
On some parts of the trail, you will have to slide down the rocks and pass through small caves in order to reach the other side. If you are not comfortable with a specific activity (e.g., cliff jumping), just tell your guide so you can take an alternative route for you to get to the next point.
The trail ends at the well-known Kawasan Falls, a three-tiered waterfall named as the cleanest inland body of water in the country. Here, you can choose to simply rest after a long trek or allow the cascading water to give you a gentle massage. Replenish lost energies by taking your lunch by the riverbank.
