You’ll start your backpacking adventure in Manila. Check in at your budget accommodations and enjoy two complimentary tours. You’ll enjoy a food tour in Binondo and sample some of the most loved delicacies in the district, and then afterward, learn a bit about the history of the Philippines when you go on a walking tour of the walled city of Intramuros.
You’ll then make your way to Sagada. Along the way, you’ll pass Banaue and visit the Banaue Rice Terraces. You have two days here, and while in Sagada, you’ll stay in budget accommodations and tour some of the municipality’s most popular tourist attractions, including the Hanging Coffins, Marlboro Hills, and Bomod-Ok Falls.
Your next destination is Baguio, which you will reach via bus. Apart from the cool weather, you can enjoy visits to the Strawberry Farm, Atok Highest Point, and a pasalubong center, so you can shop for souvenirs and treats to bring home. Finally, you’ll head to La Union, where you are free to explore the sights at your own convenience. If you want to learn how to surf, La Union is a great spot to try, and you may book add-on surfing lessons so that an expert can teach you.
On the last day of your Philippine holiday package, check out of your La Union accommodations and go back to Manila via bus.

Daily itinerary
Day 1 - Day 1: Arrival in Manila + Check-in + Tours
When you arrive in Manila, head to your budget accommodations and check in. Prepare for the two tours that you will enjoy today.
The first tour you will go on is a food tour of Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world. On this tour, you will be able to sample Filipino-Chinese delicacies such as siopao, lumpia, tikoy, and mooncakes.
You will also go back in time as you enjoy a walking tour of Intramuros, a walled city that is significant in the history of the country. Here, you will visit historical sites, including Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, and San Agustin Church.
Get some rest and prepare for your trip to Sagada, as you will be picked up in the evening.
Day 2 - Day 2: Arrival in Sagada + Tour
Before your arrival in Sagada, you will pass by Banaue. You can enjoy a quick breakfast before heading to the Banaue Rice Terraces. Afterward, you’ll head to Sagada’s town proper so you can check in to your lodging.
Afterward, you will explore the town, visiting sites like Sagada Pottery, St. Mary’s Church, the Old Cemetery, the Hanging Coffins, and the Abandoned Bus. You’ll end the day with stops at popular eateries like Sagada Brew, Gala Cafe, Yogurt House, Lemon Pie House, and Orange Farm.
Day 3 - Day 3: Sagada Day Tour
You need to wake up early as your day will start at 4:30 AM so you can catch the sea of clouds at Marlboro Hills at sunrise. After catching this breathtaking sunrise, you will explore either Sumaguing Cave or Lumiang Cave before enjoying lunch at the town proper. The last stop on this Sagada tour is Bomod-Ok Falls.
Day 4 - Day 4: Arrival in Baguio + Check-in
Check out of your lodging in Sagada and head to Baguio. Before you check in at your accommodations in Baguio, you will stop at some points of interest along the way, including the Atok Highest Point, the highest spot in the Philippine highway system, the Strawberry Farm, and a pasalubong center.
After checking in at your Baguio hostel, you are free to explore Baguio on your own.
Day 5 - Day 5: Arrival in La Union + Check-in
Enjoy the complimentary breakfast before you check out of your Baguio hostel. You will then travel to La Union by bus. Upon arrival at La Union, you will check in at your budget accommodations.
After getting settled in, you can either rest or see some of the sights in La Union by exploring on your own.
Day 6 - Day 6: Free Time + Add-on Surfing Lessons
Take advantage of the complimentary breakfast and fuel yourself up before you begin your last day on this Philippines backpacking itinerary. You are free to spend your day however you wish, but if you want to make the most out of your stay in La Union, you may book add-on surfing lessons to this Philippine tour package.
La Union is known as one of the top surfing destinations in Luzon, and those who want to learn how to ride the waves can do so with beginner lessons.
Day 7 - Day 7: Checkout + Departure
Wake up early so you can enjoy breakfast and explore more of La Union on your own before checking out of your budget accommodations. After checking out, you will make your way back to Manila via bus, marking the end of your Philippine vacation package.
