During the Spanish era, it was the city's central square and was used for hosting events. The Philippines has a long-standing relationship with the Ethnic Chinese. You'll get to know more about this at the Bahay Tsinoy museum. At Casa Manila, you'll be able to see a replica of a grand Spanish house. San Diego Gardens is a small but well-landscaped garden. It leads right to your next destination, the Baluarte De San Diego. This bastion was also built in the 1500s and was formerly called Fort Nuestra Señora de Guia. The Baroque-style San Agustin Church and Museum started as a church made of nipa, bamboo, and wood. Both buildings were destroyed by fire. The current structure that stands today is made of adobe stones and was built in 1607. Nearby, you'll get to visit the Manila Cathedral.
