Baguio City is a popular tourist destination renowned for its chilly climate, scenic mountain views, and delicious strawberries. It was historically built as a hill station or a place of refuge by the United States in 1900. This explains why remnants of its American colonial past are evident in many of its iconic cultural sites like Wright Park, Camp John Hay, and Mansion House, which are a few of the places included in your tour package
Your home base for the duration of the trip is at Venus Parkview Hotel, a budget hotel centrally located along Kisad Road, but if you opt for a hotel upgrade as an add-on service, your accommodations will be at The Forest Lodge Baguio in Camp John Hay.
Discover Baguio’s rich cultural heritage when you book this 5-day tour package and enrich your experience by adding optional tour packages to your itinerary. Check availability by choosing a date.
Upon your arrival in Baguio, proceed to your assigned hotel and check-in with the receptionist at the lobby of Venus Parkview Hotel, or the Forest Lodge Baguio if you opted for the hotel upgrade. Settle into your room and get some rest in preparation for your 8-hour tour the following day.
On your first full day in the City of Pines, head to the hotel restaurant for your complimentary breakfast. After your meal, get ready to spend 8 hours exploring Baguio’s must-see places, starting with Camp John Hay, a former U.S. military base that is now a tourist attraction and watershed reservation.
Next, you’ll visit The Mansion House, the official summer residence of Presidents of the Philippines since the Commonwealth period. Right across is Wright Park which is easily recognizable with its Pool of Pines, leafy walkways, and horses for rent. Afterward, you’ll go to Good Shepherd Convent where you can buy popular sweets like “ube” jam and strawberry preserves, followed by a visit to the Baguio Botanical Garden or Igorot Village to see native huts surrounded by lush greenery and exotic flowers.
The next leg of the tour begins with a trip to a Silver Craft shop where you can buy white-colored jewelry handcrafted by talented local artists. After that, you’ll proceed to the Pink Sister’s convent, a serene place of worship that features a unique pink-tinged basilica built at the turn of the century. Next, you’ll visit the Baguio Cathedral which is famous for the 104-step stone staircase beside it, followed by a ghost hunting trip at the Diplomat Hotel. Finally, you’re off to the Mirador Retreat House, the perfect vantage point for sunset viewing.
Fuel up with your complimentary breakfast and get ready for a full day’s tour starting with a trip to the centuries-old Casa Vallejo, the oldest hotel in the city adjacent to Hill Station, a popular restaurant serving delicious fusion dishes. You’ll then proceed to the Baguio Museum to see cultural artifacts and dioramas of Ifugao traditional homes.
Continue your immersion into Baguio’s rich cultural heritage when you visit an ethnographic museum called Museo Cordillera, followed by a quick stop to a unique food and art hub called the Ili-Likha Artist Village. Founded by local artist and acclaimed film director “Kidlat Tahimik”, the multi-level establishment celebrates the Cordillera people’s indigenous roots. Next, you’ll head off to the Easter Weaving Room to watch talented weavers as they deftly use traditional techniques while utilizing a manual handloom. These handmade treasures are available for sale at the adjacent shop.
Afterward, you’ll proceed to Tam-awan Village, an open-air museum and artist colony that features a reconstructed Cordillera village. Next on the itinerary is the BenCab museum to see the national artist’s permanent painting collection, followed by a quick stop to the Ifugao Woodcarvers Village before calling it a day.
You get to plan your own schedule today, so feel free to explore the city at your own pace. If you’d rather join another package tour, consider signing up for any one of the tours available as an optional upgrade.
