Information about Banga-an Village
Banga-an Village
Bangaan is a farming village located not far from Banaue, where its rice terraces became well-known due to its stunning views. With many old houses still intact, the village has become a heritage site. There isn't a lot of capital here, and the population is tiny.
There is only one guest house, Bangaan Family Inn & Restaurant, on the road overlooking the village. It is a picturesque spot to spend the day and night, as well as an alternative to Banaue's town center. It is about two kilometers past the Batad junction on the main road to Mayoyao. The accommodations are simple but comfortable. The cottages have spectacular views of the valley, the village, the farmland, and the nearby mountains.
Best time to visit
March to May is the best time to visit Bangaan Terraces because it will allow you to see the green terraces to the fullest.
How to get there
There are several jeepneys that travel from Manila to Mayoyo (or other towns in the surrounding area). Before passing by Banaue, the buses depart at 7am and 10 o'clock in the morning. most of the visitors leave Banaue between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The jeepneys are loaded with passengers on Saturday because this is market day of the weekend in Banaue. Optionals are to hire a tricycle or drive your own vehicle.
There is adequate ground clearance for any four-wheel drive vehicle or van to reach the Bangaan Inn, and it is free of charge.
