Information about Butterfly House
Butterfly House
The Davao Butterfly House is a wildlife sanctuary where butterflies, flowers, plants, and other exotic species including fish, insects, tarantulas, and scorpions can live in safety. It is one of the several sites in the Philippines dedicated to butterfly conservation.
In the sweltering sun, butterflies seek cover under the leaves, providing a good opportunity to study and photograph them up close. However, they are typically concealed during overcast days or in the late afternoon.
How to get there
The Davao Butterfly House is conveniently placed along the Ma-a Diversion Highway of Davao City and is close to the Davao Crocodile Park complex. It is not far from popular tourist destinations like the Musa Meristem Banana Culture and Recall Paintball. Ride a jeepney or van going to this location.
Best time to visit
The ideal time to see butterflies in flight is early in the day when there is plenty of sunshine because this is when many species are hatching, courting, and mating.
