Cagayan ValleyCagayan Valley is a part of the island of Luzon that is in the northeast. The center of the region is in Tuguegarao, and it is made up of five provinces: Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino. Batanes is treated as a separate area because it is far away and has its own culture. Most of the area is in a large valley in the northeast of the island of Luzon, between the mountain ranges of the Cordilleras and the Sierra Madre. The longest river in the country, the Cagayan River, runs through the middle of the country and empties into the Luzon Strait in the town of Aparri, Cagayan, in the north.
