Information about Divine Mercy Hills Shrine
Divine Mercy Hills Shrine
The Divine Mercy Shrine is located atop the Divine Mercy Hills in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, and sits on 9 hectares of land. It is one of the most famous religious sites in Mindanao, thanks to its 50-foot Jesus Christ statue that many believe to be miraculous. The statue stands on top of a hill overlooking Macajalar Bay and Camiguin Island, making it look even larger than its actual size.
Two Glimmering rays emanate from the heart of the statue. One represents hope, while the other stands for faith. These double as stairs that devotees can use to get close to the chamber of adoration located in the Jesus statue’s heart.
Tickets and entry
Entrance is free, but since the shrine is a place of worship, refrain from wearing revealing clothing, as you may be denied entry. While here, it is also best to stay silent and observe the surroundings quietly.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit the Divine Mercy Hills Shrine is during the daytime so that you can see the statue in daylight. If you want to avoid crowds, avoid going on Sundays, as many devotees attend mass at the shrine.
