This mangrove garden can be found in Barangay Obo-ob on Cebu’s Bantayan Island. It is a community project of the barangay residents and is managed by OMAGIECA, which stands for Obo-ob Mangrove Garden Integrated Ecotourism Conservation Association.
Visitors can enjoy being close to the mangroves by a stroll through the park via the bamboo walkways. These walkways feature several rest stops and photo spots, including the area where portions of the local film Camp Sawi were filmed. They can also try kayaking and boating in the eco-park, and should they go hungry, the on-site restaurant can satisfy them with local Bantayan Island dishes.
Tickets and entry
Adults need to pay PhP50 to enter the eco-park, while children only need to pay PhP20. Visitors may also rent a cottage for PhP150 for three hours.
Best time to visit
The park is open from 8 AM to 5 PM daily. To avoid being under the hot sun when exploring the park, visit before 10 AM or after 2 PM. It is also ideal to visit from January to April when the weather is not too hot, and there is less chance of rainfall.
