Tejeros Convention
The Tejeros Convention is held in Rosario, Cavite. It was here that the Filipino Revolutionaries held their 115th convention on March 22, 1897, and authorized the formation of a Revolutionary Government led by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.
The Tejeros Convention (alternate names include Tejeros Assembly and Tejeros Congress) was a meeting convened on March 22, 1897 in San Francisco de Malabon (now General Trias) between the Magdiwang and Magdalo groups of the Katipunan. It came after a prior gathering, now known as the Imus Assembly. The first presidential and vice presidential elections in Philippine history were held at this convention, but only Katipunans (Katipunan members) were allowed to vote.
