Description

Visit Bacolod City's most popular attractions in this private half-day sightseeing tour. This trip is perfect for those who want to get a quick glimpse of the rich history and culture of the city, from museums and historical sites to popular restaurants, in just half a day. It also already comes with transfers, the service of a guide, free hotel pick-up and drop-off within Bacolod City, and a Chicken Inasal lunch.

After getting picked up from your hotel in Bacolod, you will make your way to the church of San Sebastian, the cathedral that dates back to the 19th century. It currently houses the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bacolod. The Cathedral of San Sebastian was once a simple, wooden parish church. It was then renovated into a bigger one made of coral and durum wood stones, creating an exterior Gothic style with an elegant interior. From there, you will head to the Bacolod Plaza, located just across the church.

Established in 1927, the Bacolod Plaza dates back to the Spanish Colonial Government and is now a public park for social, leisure, and cultural activities. The location also marks the final leg of the annual street dance competition of the famed Masskara Festival of Bacolod. One prominent feature of the plaza is the bandstand, a small kiosk in the center of the site used for various activities since the Spanish era.

Next, you will go to the lagoon, located right next to the capital's park. This lagoon has exquisite statues of a man and a woman on its north and south ends, each accompanied by a male water buffalo and a female water buffalo. From there, you will then be taken to the famous Manokan Country, where you can find a row of restaurants offering Bacolod's chicken inasal. You will feast on this local dish for lunch at one of the restaurants as part of the tour package.

After lunch, you will be taken to Pope John Paul II Tower, a seven-story building devoted to the late pope. Less than two kilometers from the tower is the Gallery of Masks, where you can see a wide collection of artisan masks and costumes at a small additional cost. The gallery also offers mask painting sessions.

Afterward, you will be driven to La Guerta and the Glass Vintage Museum, home of a multitude of ancient glasses, before you make your way to the New Government Center for a photo-op. You will also stop by The Ruins, the most popular attraction in Bacolod City tours. The Ruins was a manor built in 1920 to commemorate Maria Braganza, a wealthy sugar baron's late wife. It is considered the Taj Mahal of the Philippines. Your tour ends with the two best-known souvenir shops in Bacolod, Bongbong's or Merci.
