It is believed to be one of the biggest Christian bells in Asia, standing at seven feet in diameter and five feet in height and weighing 10,400 kilograms.
What made this bell unique is the fact that it was made of 70 sacks of gold coins donated by the people of Pan-ay. The bell is so big that it can be heard from seven kilometers away. The church is open to the public daily, is built from coral stones, and follows a Baroque-style architecture.
Another religious site you will be visiting is the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was completed in 2015 and has since become a stop for Catholics, especially during the Lenten season.
From there, you will make your way to Panublion Museum, which will bring you back to the past of the historic city. It is distinct because it is housed in a water tank built in 1910. The museum displays exhibits showcasing historical and cultural artifacts, some dating back to the 16th century.
After the educational tour at Ang Panublion Museum, you will go strolling along Roxas City Bandstand before making your way to the Provincial Capitol for some photographs in front of the building. You will then be taken to the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral. Founded in 1707 by the Augustinian missionaries, the church has stood witness to most of the significant historical events of the province.
From there, you will head next to the Banica Dried Fish Market, where you can indulge in fresh and budget-friendly seafood to bring home to your family and loved ones. You will also visit the shops of Spanggo and Panulce to try out several of the local dishes.
