Discover all the adventures you can experience in the Philippines
Explore the iconic tourist spots in the countryside of Bohol with this family-friendly day tour. This adventure is ideal for those wanting to discover the natural wonders of the province with the convenience of a transfer and guide.
Your trip starts once your driver picks you up from your hotel at Panglao. Along with the tour guide, you'll make your way to your first destination, the Blood Compact Shrine. Also called Sandugo Shrine, the Blood Compact Shrine is a commemoration of the kinship between Spaniards and Filipinos. It highlights statues of Datu Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, delegates of the blood arrangement.
Next, you'll be taken to Baclayon Church. Considered as one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, its ornate style facade and rustic interior will surely appeal to fans of baroque architecture. You'll visit the Butterfly Garden next, which is a butterfly sanctuary with a café inside. With its arranged blooming gardens, it's no surprise butterfly lovers enjoy coming here to unwind and commune with the species.
From there, you will be dropped off at the Python Sanctuary, where you can see the biggest python in imprisonment. Some 14 kilometers from the sanctuary is the Loboc River Floating Restaurant, where you will stop over next for a hearty lunch. As you dig into a buffet of meat and vegetable options, seasoned fruits, and grilled or fish soup, you will be cruising down Loboc River and enjoying the sights.
After your meal, you'll visit the protection haven for tarsiers at the Tarsier Conservation Area next. These imperiled species are protected by the conservation center, but you can see them up close as long as you don't take photographs with flash as it disturbs them. About three kilometers from the conservation area is the Bilar Man-Made Forest. Extending to two kilometers of wonderful mahogany trees, this tourist destination is a must-visit.
You'll then make your way to the Hanging Bridge, situated in Sevilla, Bohol. It's exciting to cross the intersection as you'll see a different perspective of Loboc River. The highlight of your trip is the visit to the acclaimed Chocolate Hills, which is made out of 1000+ cone-shaped hills. Take photographs and appreciate the beauty of this natural wonder before making your way to the souvenir shops for some shopping.
