Join this sightseeing tour of Bohol’s popular landmarks and see what the province can offer aside from its famed beautiful beaches and islands. This is the perfect opportunity for tourists staying in Cebu to explore the historical and cultural sites of Bohol in a day.
After an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cebu City or Mactan, you will board a ferry en route to Tagbiliran. From there, you will start your guided tour of Bohol and its surroundings.
In Tagbilaran, you will see the Blood Compact Shrine, a monument commemorating the first friendship treaty between the Philippines and Spain in the 16th century. Afterwards, you will go to Baclayon Church, the oldest church in the country, and the museum attached to it. See the artifacts in the museum and marvel at the coral façade of the church. Its cultural and historical significance earned it a National Cultural Treasure listing.
You will then head to Loboc River and board a floating restaurant. There will be a cultural presentation while you're enjoying a delicious buffet of local delicacies. You can feast your eyes, too, on the lush greeneries that you will be passing by.
After lunch, you will continue to the neighboring town of Sevilla to visit the Sipatan Twin Hanging Bridge. Mind your step as you walk on the bamboo bridge extending 40 meters long. On the other side of the river, you will see souvenir shops and the famous "Buko King," a man known for his ability to strip coconuts using his bare hands and teeth.
Observe the emerald green waters of Sipatan River as you make your way back via the other bridge. From there, you will head on to the town of Carmen to pay a visit to Bohol's most popular tourist destination: the Chocolate Hills.
These hundreds of small, limestone hills are scattered over a land area of more than 50 square kilometers. They change color depending on the season: green when it’s cooler, and chocolate brown when it’s hot and dry as the grass withers.
On your way to Carmen you will stop by some major attractions, too, like the Bilar Manmade Forest, the Tarsier Conservation Area, and the Habitat Butterflies Conservation Center. Don’t forget to take photos of these picturesque sites before you make your way back to Cebu.
