Explore some of Cagayan de Oro City’s top attractions with this day tour. This Cagayan de Oro tour is ideal for those who want a fuss-free experience as it already comes with transfers from your accommodations in the downtown area.
You will be picked up from your accommodations in downtown Cagayan de Oro at around 2 PM. This tour will take you around the tourist spots of the city aboard a motorela or a rela, the city’s iconic tricycle. Riding a motorela is an experience on its own, but if you want air-conditioned transfers, you may purchase an upgrade.
The first stop of your Cagayan de Oro city tour is the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral. Saint Augustine is the patron saint of the city, and the cathedral is the ecclesiastical seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro.
Next, you’ll visit the Sendong Memorial Wall, which was erected to commemorate and honor the victims of Typhoon Washi (local name Sendong) in 2011. Afterward, you’ll head to the City Museum of Cagayan de Oro. Apart from the historical artifacts it houses, the museum itself has historical significance to the city, as it used to be a working water tank tower. It was converted into a museum in 2008 and is now the oldest public structure in Cagayan de Oro.
You’ll then head to Plaza Divisoria, which was built as a firewall but is now home to several historical monuments. Afterward, you’ll head to the Museum of Three Cultures and the Provincial Capitol Grounds to learn more about the history and culture of the city.
Finally, you’ll head to the Pasalubong Center so you can buy snacks and trinkets to bring to your loved ones back home. You will then be escorted back to your accommodations in Cagayan de Oro so you can rest after your tour.
