Get to know Laoag and Pagudpud’s famous landmarks and natural attractions with this whole day sightseeing combo tour. If you’ve already seen the region’s famed beaches and sand dunes and want to explore more of its inland attractions, then this package is just what you need and more.

The tour begins when you’re picked up from your accommodation in Laoag and taken to your first stopover, the Malacañang of the North. While it served as the residence of the former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos during his reign, it has now been converted into a presidential museum. The museum overlooks the Paoay Lake and houses memorabilia from the Marcos era.

From there, you will be taken to the nearby Paoay Church, located some ten kilometers from the presidential museum. Feel the historical significance of the site the moment you set your eyes on its buttresses and unique baroque design that earned it a UNESCO Heritage listing. This structure has survived over the centuries despite earthquakes and the ravages of time.

Afterward, you will head to the Marcos Museum to discover the life story of Ferdinand Marcos before visiting another museum in the area, the Museo Ilocos Norte. This ethnographic museum houses a massive collection of traditional items from the Igorot, Ilocano, and Itneg people of the area. Here, you can find ceremonial objects, traditional clothing, and household utensils, to name a few.

From the museum, you will continue to the Sinking Bell Tower and St. William Cathedral. Both religious structures are iconic because of their distinct features and design. Take plenty of photos while exploring these sites before stopping by at the Tobacco Monopoly marker, a monument commemorating the end of Spain’s monopoly over the tobacco trade in the country.

You will then be taken to Cape Bojeador. This is the northwestern tip of Luzon island, which is best known for its Spanish Lighthouse built back in the late 1890s. Apart from the lighthouse, another popular attraction in this side of Ilocos is the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, a creamy white and streamlined limestone formation tucked away on the coast of Burgos.

After taking photos with the rock formation, you will head to Bangui Windmills, pinwheel-like structures that generate a substantial amount of sustainable energy in the region. It is also a picture-perfect destination because of the vast stretch of blue skies as its backdrop. You will then end your day with a drive through the Patapat Viaduct, where you will be rewarded with the stunning countryside of idyllic charm and spectacular views.

Bring out your camera on this jam-packed sightseeing tour of Laoag and Pagugpug in Ilocos Norte. Check availability by selecting a date.
