Each tour can accommodate up to 16 travelers on a boat that will take you on the adventure across Palawan’s pristine, remote islands.

The tours are notorious for being spontaneous and laidback. What you’ll make out of it is really up to you—with expert guides leading you every step of the way. It’s your chance to go off-grid and immerse yourself in the island life. Be one with nature and bask in the sun, go snorkeling and witness colorful marine life, and eat fresh, yummy local food.

If you’re up for it, the adrenaline junkie in you will be satisfied too! Freediving, cliff diving, or spearfishing activities can be available depending on the location we’ll end up going to. But if you want something chill, you can comfortably sit back, relax, and soak the scenery up.

Every night on this trip is a chance to see the night sky bragging its beauty. Hundreds of stars will litter the unpolluted skies and give you a spectacular natural show you’d never want to get out from.

The Coron to El Nido boat expedition is for those adventurous souls who want to maximize their stay in Palawan. There will be a lot more ground to cover, so expect tons of exposure to the open seas, lots of nature, and overall just a lot of fun. Check the available dates to book your tour now.

Day 1
4 Days 3 Nights Coron to El Nido Boat Expedition Tour - day 1

Day 1 - Highlights of Coron

You’ll start the first day with a bang, as you begin with the highlights of Coron. You’ll get to see the Twin Lagoon in all its stunning glory, with massive rock formations towering over you feeling like you’re in a secret part of the world. There’s also the Kayangan Lake and its clear blue waters and chill vibe. Take tons of underwater pics if you wish! After some fun in the water, it’s time for lunch. The crew has excellent trained cooks that can prepare tasty dishes to your heart’s desire—including vegan and vegetarian recipes to fulfill any of your dietary needs. Just let them know about this as you book so they can prepare the ingredients beforehand! Part of Coron’s beauty includes vibrant underwater ecosystems and the chance to see them all via snorkeling. The trip to Coral Garden will be unrivaled for this purpose alone. You’ll also be taken to shipwreck sites where you can revisit the history as it is recorded under the sea. Just before sunset, you’ll head to the first basecamp where you’ll be settling in for the night. Here, you’ll wind down, have dinner and drinks, and just chill with your fellow travelers exchanging stories for the day. You’ve done a lot at this point—but the trip is only just beginning!

Day 2 - Set sail to El Nido

Rise and shine! You’re going to head off early today to cover a lot of ground. Before you leave the first basecamp, you’ll be served yummy breakfast. Nothing says good morning than a happy stomach. You’re heading for the Linapacan Islands today, where you’ll either do snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, or all of the above. The choice is yours! Linapacan is an island of 52 islets scattered between Coron and El Nido, meaning the waters are clear, and the places are mostly untouched. Here, you’ll also have the chance to see stingrays depending if your group is lucky. If you’ve got the nerve to try, or perhaps you’re looking forward to doing something extreme, there’s a possibility you’ll be doing a cliff diving activity on this day around seven meters high. The option to participate here is definitely up to you. Rest assured the guides will assist you every step of the way! Before sunset, you’ll be settling down for a yummy dinner, good music, and drinks. You can opt to rest up or socialize some more with the people on the trip—there’s no wrong answer here. As night comes, you’ll be swept away by the sea of stars once again as you hear the gentle crashing of the waves on the shore.

Day 3 - Islands and Beaches

You start with a hearty breakfast and head off to continue the Coron to El Nido expedition. It’s your final full day together with the group, so make the most out of it. After the first two days of adventure-filled activities, you’ll also allow you to wind down and explore the many beautiful beaches around Palawan. Today’s island-hopping will include a visit to the Fish Village, as you’ll also load up some more fresh food for the crew. Lunch will be served, and as usual, you’ll be getting something yummy for the tummy. After you’re all full and rested, you’re going to visit a massive coral reef where everyone will have the chance to see rainbow colors from underwater. More underwater pictures! As the sun starts to kiss the horizon, you’ll be settling down at the basecamp once again. Go for a dip, play some volleyball by the shore, or exchange stories with your co-travelers. You’ll have your farewell party with dinner and drinks, and bask under the beautiful night sky. Trust us—this will never get old. By now, night skies will probably never look the same way to you anymore.

Day 4 - The Last Lagoon

It’s the fourth and final day of the trip! Don’t worry—you still have things to do! After the last breakfast together, you’ll most likely be heading to Cadlao Beach and Lagoon. This is where you’ll stay most of the day, as this area is home to beautiful limestone and rock formations and tranquil waters. It’s bittersweet as this is the last pit stop for the trip, but memorable all the same. You can also go kayaking around the area, take more pictures, go sunbathing, and generally soak up the beautiful views. Make the most out of the last day, and take your time. As you enjoy your last lunch together, you’ll be heading back to the main island at around late afternoon. It’s time to bid the crew and your co-travelers goodbye, exchanging contacts, and treasuring the memories you’ve spent together in the past four days on the island.

Good to know

Big Dream Boatman (BDBM) was started out of a frustration of the culture of packing uncomfortable boats with too many people. They wanted to do it differently, where adventure could be personal and comfortable. Where you could really make friends with locals and travelers and take it at your own pace, without feeling forced or squashed.

A maximum of 18 travelers joins the BDBM banka/boat and the passionate crew to make the adventure crossing exploring the remote islands of Palawan.

It's a chance to experience true island life, eating fresh food and hanging out with the crew and fellow guests. You can take the trip at your own pace. It's really up to you, if you want more or less adventure you take it as it comes - it's all good.

Come sunset you'll be stopping each night on an island to watch the magical Palawan skies before sleeping with the stars. This trip is more intense than Coron Island Life (Coron to Coron) as you have further to travel so it's ideal for those who are a bit more adventurous or those who may have less time in Palawan and want to maximize each day.

The trip starts at around 10 AM on the first day and finishes at around 5 PM on the last day.

Accommodations

The islands you will be visiting are remote so they do not have features such as hot running water or advanced sewage.

The cottages are very simple. They are built with bamboo and furnished with a simple mattress, mosquito net and fan. Some of them have multiple beds good for groups or shared with other travelers (only happens during peak season.) For shower and toilet, there is freshwater and manual flush.

You will wake up to the sounds of the sea. There's little to no electricity on the islands so the starry sky and moon are your nightlight. The islands do have enough electricity to charge your phones, most of the time (although there can be power outages).

For the camping, you will be provided with tents, small mattress, pillow and set up. Again these will be put in the sand, next to the ocean.

Big Dream Boatman has been running these expeditions for a couple of years now. It is important to set your expectation and for you to decide if you can 'rough it' for a few days.

The Boat

In 2019, Krish, the Big Dream Boatman himself, was able to commission the building of two boats for this expedition. They wanted to build the most comfortable and the safest banka/boats Palawan has ever seen. And they did! With more than enough space on the upper and lower deck to chill and sunbathe, cushioned seating, and nets on the side, plus a toilet, the boat has everything we need to make the crossing! Adventure doesn't have to be uncomfortable.
