Description

Learn the basics of the Philippines' Chavacano language to make your visit more navigable with this 8-session beginner’s online course. This course includes eight 60-minute sessions and is ideal for those who want to learn the fundamentals of Chavacano, or recall their basic knowledge of it. By the end of the course, you should be able to understand basic Chavacano phrases and simple sentences.

Each class lasts an hour and can be scheduled every other day, once a week for eight weeks, or once a day for eight days. Please tell your instructor as soon as possible if you need to postpone. You will be emailed a link to a Zoom meeting where your classes will be hosted after your schedule is confirmed.

In your first class, your instructor will show you how to introduce yourself. Your first Chavacano words, such as "buenas dias," will be taught, and your second class will build on the first by teaching you what to say when conversing with strangers. The third class will focus on numbers, hours, days of the week, and months. You will participate in a roleplaying activity with your instructor in your fourth session to put what you learnt in the previous three classes into practice.

During your fifth lesson, you will learn vocabulary and phrases connected to family, friends, and other relationships, such as "tata," "nana," and "manang." Your sixth class will cover common verbs, while your seventh class will cover practical Chavacano phrases and sentences that will allow you to ask for directions and place food orders. You will have the option to try out the new terms you've learned in all of your previous lessons during role playing on the last session.

Gain an understanding of the basics of the Chavacano language when you book this online language course. Check the availability by choosing a date.
