Description

Learn about Waray, the Philippines' fifth most-spoken native regional language, through this online beginner course. As a language native to Eastern Visayas, this course is perfect for those planning to visit provinces like Samar and Leyte. Throughout the course, you will take eight classes with an instructor that will teach you the basics of Waray and how to use common phrases in everyday conversations.

Each session will be taught by instructors who are experts at teaching Waray as a second language. The online course's flow is also flexible, so you are free to schedule your classes at your own pace.

You will kick off your learning adventure with a session on how to say "hello" and other niceties in Waray that will help you strike up a conversation with others. When you get the hang of that, your instructor will teach you what to say when getting to know others in your second class. The third session will then focus on how numbers, hours, days, and months of the year are said in Waray. Following your first three lessons, you will have a roleplaying activity with your instructor to practice what you've learned so far.

In lesson number five, you will learn what words are used to refer to members of the family and other relationships such as friends and romantic partners. After that, the sixth session will revolve around commonly used verbs and adverbs that will help you describe your daily activities in the Waray language. For your seventh class, your instructor will teach you how to ask for directions and how to order food, which are both important things to learn when traveling. Finally, you will put your Waray skills to the test in another roleplaying activity during your eighth and last lesson.

Prepare for your trip to Eastern Visayas by booking this Waray language class for beginners. Check the availability by choosing a date.
