Experience driving an ATV by the foot of Mount Mayon in Albay through this day tour. This is a perfect activity for travelers craving a new and quick experience, as the adventure ride will only take about 20 to 30 minutes. The tour also comes with the use of a rental ATV unit, safety gear, the assistance of a trail guide, and access to Mayon SkyDrive's Grassland Trail.
Children aged 10 and below can join as back-ride passengers free of charge. Riders aged 11 - 17 are considered adults and may drive their own unit if they pass the practice session. Otherwise, they may only go on a back ride with a driving adult. Back-ride passengers and their accompanying adults should not exceed a total weight of 100kg. Pregnant women are prohibited from going on ATV rides for their own safety.
Go to Mayon SkyDrive in the Cagsawa Ruins Park on the day of your planned ride. After completing your registration, the staff will give you a quick rundown of the safety guidelines and measures you'll need to remember during your trip. Your guide will then teach you the basics of ATV riding. After getting the hang of the basics, you're good to go!
As you head out onto the trail, make sure to stay behind your guide to avoid getting lost. For this activity, you will be taking the grasslands trail that starts by the Cagsawa Ruins. As the name suggests, this trail features open and lush grasslands.
During your ride, you will get to explore 2km of this beautiful trail. Keep your eyes peeled as you drive by majestic fields that give you a breathtaking view of Mount Mayon. After taking in the sights along the grasslands trail, head back to the trail's starting point. Like the rest of the path, the way back consists of sandy and rocky terrain, so expect a bumpy yet fun ride. If you ever need to rest, you can also catch your breath under the shade of some trees.
