Discover the top sights and learn about the heritage and culture of the province of Albay in the Bicol region. This Albay tour will take you to great viewpoints and give you a chance to discover and experience the local industries and visit the best historical sites in Albay. This tour is inclusive of air-conditioned transfers, entrance fees, and complimentary lunch at Casa Simeon.
You will first be picked up from your accommodations in Legazpi City. You will then make your way to Legazpi Boulevard. This location boasts a breathtaking view of the sea and Mayon Volcano on the north side and is one of the most beautiful roadside locations in the Philippines. While not stopping to explore for too long, you can still appreciate notable landmarks and catch a glimpse of various cafés and Albay restaurants lining the route.
You’ll then go to Sumlang Lake, a 9.21-hectare lake, where you may go kayaking, rent a floating cottage, or feed the fish. It's a fantastic location to take pictures of the magnificent Mayon Volcano and a main highlight of most Mayon volcano tours.
Afterward, you’ll visit Cagsawa Ruins. The only structure left standing from the tragic eruption of Mount Mayon in 1814 may be seen here. It is the bell tower of the Franciscan church from the sixteenth century. You will also go to Daraga Church, a church near Mayon Volcano, which was built atop a hill. The grandiose characteristics of the building will astound you, and you'll fall in love with the expansive perspective it provides.
You will also visit Mayon Golf Course, a golf course that offers great views of the Mayon skyline. After the Mount Mayon tour, you will head to the municipality of Bacacay, where you will pay a visit to Casa Simeon Heritage House. Built in 1920, it is a grand home where you will see a combination of classic and modern designs, as well as hotel-like amenities. You will be having your complimentary lunch here.
Tabaco Town will be your next stopover. Here, you will check out Tabaco Church, a structure built out of dark volcanic soil and stones. You will visit the Tabaco Makers, who make knives of all kinds and sizes, and the Bahay na Bato, which is the ancestral house of Filipina poet Angela Manalang-Gloria.
You will then head to Tiwi Pottery, a ceramic arts and crafts shop famous for its stoneware potteries. After appreciating the various pottery, you will visit Masaraga Volcano Campsite for a panoramic Mayon view and some sightseeing.
