Description
Get introduced to Bacolod City's most popular attractions in this half-day sightseeing tour. This family-friendly city tour is perfect for those wishing to discover the rich history and culture of the province, from museums and historical sites to popular food places.
Wait for the appointed driver to pick you up at your Bacolod hotel and take you straight to the church of San Sebastian, the cathedral that dates back to the 19th century. Currently housing the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bacolod, the Cathedral of San Sebastian was once a simple, wooden parish church. It was then renovated into a bigger one made of coral and durum wood stones, creating an exterior Gothic style with an elegant interior. Offer your short prayers here before heading to the Bacolod Plaza located just across the church.
Established in 1927, this plaza dates back to the Spanish Colonial Government and is now a public park for social, leisure, and cultural activities. The location also marks the final leg of the annual street dance competition of the famed Masskara Festival of Bacolod. One prominent feature of the plaza is the bandstand, a small kiosk in the center of the site which is used for various activities from the Spanish era.
You will go straight from the square to the lagoon next to the capital city park of the province. This lagoon has exquisite statues of a man and a woman on its north and south ends, each accompanied by a male water buffalo and a female water buffalo. From there, you will then be taken to the Manokan Country where you will be feasting on Bacolod's famous chicken inasal version. (Please note that Manokan Country is in the process of moving temporarily to SM City Bacolod's terminal hub.)
After finishing your meal, you will be taken to The Negros Forest Park, considered as the lungs of the city because it's one of the last remaining green spaces in this vibrant city. You have the option to visit Gallery of Masks, where you can see a wide collection of artisan masks and costumes at a small additional cost. The gallery also offers guests a pleasant painting activity to experience their own mask painting.
Afterward, you will be driven to La Guerta and the Glass Vintage Museum, home of a multitude of ancient glasses before you make your way to the New Government Center for a photo-op. You will also stop by The Ruins. A manor built to commemorate Maria Braganza, a wealthy local’s wife, the ruins were constructed in 1920 and make for the perfect vintage vibe selfie background. Your tour ends with the two best-known souvenir shops in Bacolod, Bongbong’s or Merci.
Hit the road and enjoy a fun and hassle-free city tour and experience the best of Bacolod. Check availability by choosing a date.
