Description

Enjoy an enchanting evening surrounded by the warm glow of fireflies in Coron with this private firefly-watching Palawan tour. This walking tour is perfect for travelers looking for a less crowded attraction in Coron since only a few people are allowed at a time to avoid scaring off the fireflies. This Coron firefly-watching tour also covers the entrance fees, a set dinner, hotel pick-up and drop-off for accommodations within Coron, land transfers, and the service of a guide.

Please note that this is a walking tour, and you will be walking on dark and uneven terrain, so it’s best to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Avoid using perfume and insect repellent before your tour, as this can be harmful to the fireflies and their habitat.

On the day of your firefly watching in Coron, your designated guide will pick you up from your Coron hotel around dusk. From there, the guide will drive you to Kingfisher Park in Coron’s Sitio Malbato. The park is home to a mangrove forest and several kinds of birds, including kingfishers, hence the name.

During the tour, the guide will lead the way, showing you the best spots to see the fireflies. Remember to always listen and follow your guide so that you don’t get lost. Refrain from making noise to avoid disturbing the fireflies.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled so you can spot the fireflies dancing around you and the trees. Your guide will also share tidbits about the area and the insects, such as how the forest is a perfect habitat for them due to the tropical climate.

Feel free to take photos of this beautiful encounter, but make sure to turn your flash off so you won't end up scaring off these gentle creatures. While the fireflies light up the air around you, you can also witness another elegant natural phenomenon that takes place just along the water's surface: the bioluminescent plankton.

These microscopic animals tend to emit light when they move across the surface. To get a better look at how they glow a soft blue light, dip your hand in the water and make gentle movements to see the edges of the small ripples you create glow a shade of blue.

Experience a magical encounter with Coron's fireflies through this leisurely Coron tour. Check the availability by choosing a date.
