To start your Leyte tour, you’ll be picked up at your hotel in Tacloban City in the early morning. You’ll then depart for Inopacan, Leyte, by 6 AM. At 9 AM, you’ll arrive in Inopacan and fill up the registration form. Then, shortly after, you’ll board the boat and start the island-hopping tour.
You’ll first make a quick stop at three islands, namely Himokilan, Mahaba, and Apid Islands. Himokilan Island, the biggest and closest to the mainland in Cuatro Islas, is a beach lover's paradise with sparkling white sand. But this island offers more than just sunbathing! Nicknamed "The Giant Boot" because of its unique shape, Himokilan has a small village where you can experience local life, similar to the neighboring islands.
Next is Mahaba Island, named for its elongated shape (mahaba means "long" in Filipino). This island boasts two beautiful white-sand coastlines and a thriving marine sanctuary, perfect for some quick swimming and relaxation. Apid Island is your next stop, The second-largest island is known for its fishing village and vibrant mat-weaving community. Here, you can enjoy a quick stay, seeing the art of pandan stripping or plainly lounging before moving to your last stop, Digyo Island.
Don't let its size fool you. Digyo Island, the smallest of the four gems in Leyte's Cuatro Islas, is the main highlight of this tour. This island boasts a stunning white sand beach that rivals Boracay, earning it the nickname "Little Boracay" among locals.
If you love the sand, Digyo offers not one but two amazing sandbars, one stretching out from the north and another from the south. These sandbars are perfect for taking stunning photos or simply relaxing by the water's edge. Enjoy your free time here and your complimentary lunch.
At 3 PM, board the boat and head back to the Inopacan mainland. The estimated arrival time in Inopacan is 4 PM. You'll then transfer to a van for the return trip to Tacloban. You should be back at your hotel at around 6 PM.
