Description

Feast on some of Binondo’s most famous Chinese dishes and treats with this shared Binondo walking food tour. This tour already comes with a guide that will lead you through the streets of Binondo.

Established in 1594, Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world and is home to several restaurants, food stalls, and tea houses that serve both Chinese and Filipino cuisine. It has become one of the go-to places in Metro Manila for a gastronomic experience.

This tour will last around three to four hours and can begin at either 9 AM or 3 PM, so choose the schedule that fits your itinerary for the day. First, you must meet in front of the Santa Cruz Church in Manila. Since this is a shared tour, be at the meet-up spot on time so you won’t be tagged as a no-show and left by the group. While some stops will offer a food sampler for those part of this tour, remember to bring enough cash with you so you can try more food and buy snacks that you can bring home.

You’ll begin with a walking tour of Ongpin Street, which is lined with eateries. Shanghai Fried Siopao and New Eastern Garden Restaurant are your first two stops. Here, you can try two Filipino-Chinese food favorites: siopao and lumpia.

At the Santo Cristo de Longos, you’ll take a break from eating and see the famous cross that is said to have been in Binondo since the Spanish period. Afterward, you’ll go hopia shopping in Eng Bee Tin Grocery, where you can also buy tikoy and mooncakes.

Make sure you have room in your stomach for more delicious food, as you will still try Lord Stow’s egg pies, Dong Bei Dumplings dim sum, and Ling Nam Noodle Factory and Wanton Parlor’s noodles.

Before heading to your final stop, Binondo Church, you’ll enjoy mocha and vanilla chiffon cakes at Eng Ho Bake Shop for your dessert.

Eat your way through Binondo in Manila with this shared walking food tour. Check the availability by choosing a date.
