Manila City, the vibrant capital of the Philippines, is a treasure trove of heritage.
As one of the oldest and most historically significant cities in the country, it reflects centuries of colonial influence and cultural evolution.
This tour allows you to explore Manila City with ease as it already includes the service of a friendly guide.
You have the option to book roundtrip transfers from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport or from your hotel in the city of Manila or Makati. If you are a cruise passenger, you can upgrade to include pick-up and drop-off from and to the Manila Port for a hassle-free experience.
To kick off your heritage tour, your guide will meet you at the revered Manila Cathedral. Originally built in 1571, it has undergone several renovations after being damaged by several earthquakes, a typhoon, and even a fire. Here, you can admire its stunning architecture, explore its beautifully restored interiors, and learn about its vital role in Philippine religious and political history.
You’ll also go on a kalesa (horse-drawn carriage) ride in Intramuros old town, a historic walled city in Manila known for its Spanish-era architecture, cobblestone streets, and centuries-old landmarks.
A kalesa is a traditional horse-drawn carriage that was used in the Philippines during the Spanish era. During your carriage ride, you will encounter some Spanish-era structures within the walled city, such as the iconic Plaza Roma, a historic square located in front of the Manila Cathedral. This square once served as the main civic space during Spanish colonial rule and remains a central landmark in Intramuros old town.
Once your ride is done, you will head to San Agustin Church, the oldest stone church in the Philippines. San Agustin Church is recognized as a National Cultural Treasure and a National Historical Landmark, and it is also one of the four Baroque churches in the Philippines included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
After exploring the grandeur of San Agustin Church, you will head to its museum, located within the same historic complex. The San Agustin Museum houses a rich collection of religious artifacts, colonial-era artworks, antique furniture, and centuries-old manuscripts that offer a deeper understanding of the Philippines' Catholic heritage and Spanish colonial history.
Before you continue with your tour, you can indulge in a hearty lunch at either Cabel Restaurant or Emila House of Filipino Food.
Following your meal, you will continue your tour with a visit to San Sebastian Church, a recognized National Cultural Treasure and National Historical Landmark. It is the only all-steel church in the Philippines and a rare example of Gothic Revival architecture in Asia.
You will also head to Quiapo Church, home to the Black Nazarene—a life-sized statue of Christ that many devotees believe to be miraculous.
As part of the itinerary, you will also visit the Santa Cruz Church, a historic religious site built during the Spanish colonial era to serve the Chinese community in Manila City. Its elegant Baroque-style façade and serene interior offer a glimpse into the city’s colonial and religious past.
Your tour also includes a side trip to Plaza Miranda and Quiapo Market. Plaza Miranda is a historic public square located in front of Quiapo Church, often used for political rallies, religious gatherings, and cultural events. Just beside it is Quiapo Market, a bustling marketplace renowned for its diverse range of goods—from herbal medicines and religious items to local street food and bargain finds.
After your tour, you’re free to spend the rest of the day exploring more of Manila City at your own pace.
