Description

Learn about the rich history and culture of Silay City in Negros Occidental through this day tour. This Silay City tour is perfect for people who appreciate architecture and stories as you will be visiting some of Silay's most historic buildings. Along with the tour, the package already includes transfers, the service of a guide, hotel pick-up and drop-off within Bacolod City, a seafood lunch, and complimentary bottled water.

You will be picked up from your accommodation within Bacolod City in the morning. From there, you will begin making your way to your first stop of the day: the Provincial Capitol Building and Lagoon. You can stroll through the beautiful park, which features a calm lagoon and beautiful statues. Just across the park stands the Provincial Capitol Building, which currently houses various government offices.

After your time here, you will continue onto Balay Negrense. This ancestral house now serves as a museum that depicts the life of its owner, Victor Gaston, during the 19th century. Next, you will go to the Ramon Hofileña Ancestral Home. This historic site has been a must-visit place since it first opened its doors to tourists in 1934. It has continued to display artworks and antiques that preserve Silay's history from then on.

You will then travel to the Silay Pro-Cathedral and Mini Ruins after leaving the heritage home. This 20th-century church is best known for being the only pro-cathedral. It also features Romanesque-style architecture and is the only church in Negros Occidental with a dome. Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at the Balaring restaurant before continuing your tour.

Your next stop will be the Cinco De Noviembre Mark Point. This historic structure commemorates the Negros Revolution that finally ended the Spanish control in the province. Following your stop here, you will go to the Bernardino Jalandoni Museum. This is another heritage house that dates back to 1908 and now functions as a museum. You will also visit Balay ni Tana Dicang, another heritage home turned into a museum that displays Spanish-Filipino domestic architecture.

You will then stop by the El Ideal Bakery, a bakery inside a heritage home. After buying some of their tasty pastries, you will end your day at The Ruins. Previously serving as a mansion for a wealthy sugar baron, its beautiful architecture has now made it one of the best spots in Negros Occidental that is also perfect for photo-ops.
