Information about Cagayan River
Cagayan River
Cagayan River, which is also known as Río Grande De Cagayan, is the longest and widest river in the Philippines. Its total length is around 505 kilometers and flows through the provinces of Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Isabela. There are three major tributaries that flow to the Cagayan River: Ilagan River, Magat River, and Chico River. The Cagayan River is important in the region, as it ensures that the land is fertile and helps the locals grow a variety of crops, including rice, corn, and tobacco.
Tourists can enjoy many activities along the river, including having a picnic, kayaking, swimming, canoeing, river tubing, and white water rafting.
Best time to visit
If you are planning to enjoy some of the water activities, it is best to visit during the warmer months, which are usually from March to May. During this time, the river's cool waters will be refreshing, and its depth and flow will be safer.
