Information about Caohagan Island
Caohagan Island
Caohagan Island is a tiny island about 7.5 kilometers off southern Olango. Among all the islands of the Olango Island Group, Caohagan has the flattest area. Its highest elevation stands at only ten meters tall and spans an area of about 50,000 square meters.
A few hours’ stay on the island is usually part of the island hopping tour packages offered in Cebu where tourists enjoy frolicking and exploring the island. It is a destination for those who seek unadulterated nature experiences and cultural exchanges with the local villagers.
On the west part of the island lies the Olango Reef Flat, which the island is known for. It is part of the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary under the protection of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The reef flat includes mudflats, beautiful coral reefs, salt marsh, and mangroves.
How to get there

Caohagan Island is open to tourists all year round. When it comes to the weather, it’s best to visit during the dry season, which is usually from late December to May.
