Puncan
Located in Nueva Ecija, in the municipality of Carranglan, Puncan is a barangay where you can find Mount Batong Amat, which is also known as Mount 387. The mountain is a popular hiking attraction, thanks to the gorgeous views its trails and summit offer. Because of its similarities to the tourist attraction in Bohol, the mountain has been nicknamed the Chocolate Hills of the North. In the past, many treasure hunters also frequented the mountain, believing it to be the site where the Yamashita treasure is hidden.
In Puncan, you can also find Aloha Falls, a popular tourist site in Nueva Ecija known for its high cascade and clear waters.
Tickets and entry
Visitors can enter the barangay of Puncan for free, but if they wish to visit the tourist attractions here, they need to pay the respective entrance fees.
Best time to visit
Since its tourist attractions are outdoors, the best time to visit Puncan is during its dry season, which usually falls from November to April.
