Information about Silop Cave
Silop Cave
The Silop Caves is a multi-cave system that is located in Surigao del Norte’s Barangay Silop. There are over a dozen caves in total, but only a few are open to tourists. There are also several entrances to the cave system, and your guide will lead you to one that is accessible to the public.
These caves are home to stunning stalactites and stalagmites that took decades to form, as well as animals, including bats, spiders, snakes, birds, and various insects.
Tickets and entry
There is a minimal registration fee that already includes the use of a helmet, gloves, and a headlamp. You also need to pay a guide fee, which will depend on the size of your group.
Best time to visit
It’s best to visit during the dry season, so you can explore the cave with a smaller chance of encountering muddy and slippery trails. This usually falls from March to September.
