Tappiya Waterfalls
Aside from the magnificent rice fields, one of the natural tourism attractions in Batad is the Tappiya Waterfalls. Most tourists who only have one day in Batad normally see the waterfalls as you can walk through the rice fields at the same time.
The hiking to Tappiya Falls does not need a guide, but if you are unfamiliar with Batad, it is best to obtain one from the tourist center. The catch basin of the falls is deep, but if you're not a strong swimmer, you can opt for shallow areas by the banks where the current is slow.
Hiking on rainy days is not recommended since a section of the trail leading to the waterfalls is vulnerable to major landslides. It is recommended to carry plenty of water with you on your hike; you'll need it. If you have more time, you can also visit the Awa View Deck where one can get a panoramic view of the whole Batad area.
How to get here
It will take approximately 2 to 3 hours to trek from Batad center down to the falls, which are located at the bottom of the terraces.
Best time to visit
The waterfall is open all year which means you can visit the attraction anytime.
