Zoobic Safari

Zoobic SafariPhoto from Zoobic Safari

Zoobic Safari is one of the most unique attractions in Subic Bay, offering a rare chance to see exotic and native animals in a sprawling forest setting. Covering more than 20 hectares inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the park is best known for being the country’s only tiger safari, where visitors can experience up-close encounters with these powerful creatures. Beyond its headline attraction, Zoobic Safari also combines education and entertainment, making it an ideal stop for families, animal lovers, and adventure seekers.

How to Get There

The safari is located within the Ilanin Forest of Subic Bay, about a 20-minute drive from the Subic Bay port area. For travelers arriving by cruise ship, shuttle services and vans provide convenient transfers directly to the park.

Those traveling from Manila City can reach Subic Bay in two to three hours via expressways, then continue into the Freeport Zone. Many Subic tours include Zoobic Safari on their itinerary, so it’s easy to combine with nearby attractions like Ocean Adventure or Inflatable Island.

What to Expect

A visit to Zoobic Safari is divided into themed zones that highlight different animals and experiences. The Tiger Safari is the most popular, where guests ride inside a secure jeep that drives through a large enclosure, giving a thrilling view of tigers roaming freely. Other attractions include Croco Loco, where dozens of crocodiles gather beneath a viewing bridge, and the Serpentarium, home to snakes, lizards, and other reptiles.

Families will also enjoy the petting zoo and animal shows, which introduce younger guests to wildlife in a fun and interactive way. The park’s forested environment adds to the adventure, creating a setting that feels both wild and immersive.

Best Time to Visit

Zoobic Safari is open year-round, but the cooler months from November to February make for the most comfortable visits. Arriving earlier in the day is recommended, as many animals are more active in the morning, and the temperatures are milder. Weekdays tend to be quieter than weekends, allowing for a more relaxed experience in the park.

Shore Excursions for Cruise Passengers

For passengers arriving on cruise ships, Zoobic Safari is one of the most popular shore excursions close to the Subic Bay terminal. A Zoobic Safari cruise excursion allows visitors to spend several hours exploring the park before returning to the ship.

The most convenient option is to book a Day Pass to Zoobic Safari, which includes access to the main animal zones and attractions. Some Subic Bay cruise tours also combine Zoobic with other nearby stops, making it possible to enjoy a safari experience alongside a beach or marine park visit within a single day.
