Description

Spend a day swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob, Philippines, and a chance to explore a waterfall in southern Cebu when you book this day tour. This tour is inclusive of a whale shark encounter in Oslob and an optional trip to the famous Tumalog Falls. Included in the package are transfers from Cebu City, lunch, whale shark encounter briefing and permit, paddle boat with steward, a free running tour, and services of a guide.

You will be first picked up from your Cebu City accommodation early in the morning and taken to Barangay Tan-awan in Oslob for the whale shark watching activity. Oslob, a popular destination for whale shark watching in the Philippines, is about three hours away from the city. You will then be given a short briefing about whale shark watching before you proceed with your first adventure for the day.

When the orientation is done, you will hop on small paddle boats that will take you where you can observe the whale sharks. You have a choice to either stay in the boat and see the gentle giants from a convenient distance or jump in the water with your snorkeling gear to get a better view of the enormous fish species.

Whale sharks are known as “tuki” in the local dialect or “butanding” in Filipino. They are harmless filter feeders that eat small organisms called plankton and other small marine animals like small squid and fish. No need to worry because even though they can grow so large, they don’t attack humans.

After swimming with or viewing the whale sharks, you have the option to book a Tumalog Falls tour. This multi-tiered waterfall in Oslob boasts clean, turquoise-colored waters. When you get to the area, you can take a dip or admire the scenery. (Tumalog Falls is temporarily closed, will be temporarily replaced by a monkey-viewing activity in Oslob.)

After freshening up, you will make your way to a local restaurant where you will eat your complimentary lunch. You will then depart Oslob and go on a running tour to Baluarte, Cuartel, Boljoon Church, and Carcar Shoe Expo. Your tour ends as you are dropped off at Ayala Central Bloc, Cebu IT Park, or at SM City Cebu.

Prepare your swimming gear and camera for a day in this Oslob day tour in Cebu. Check the availability by choosing a date.

DISCLAIMER: Seeing whale sharks during this tour is NOT GUARANTEED.  Whale sharks are migratory animals and even during the whale shark season, there is a possibility that you may not encounter one during your tour.
