Information about Baybay Beach
Baybay Beach
The surest way to enjoy Roxas City, Capiz, the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, is to have a taste of its fresh seafood in Baybay Beach. Located 3 kilometers from the city, Baybay beach is a beach of fine, ebony sand facing the Sibuyan Sea and is also known as La Playa de Roxas.
Because of its proximity to the city, Baybay beach is a default hangout for visitors and locals. It is an ideal place for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking, but most especially, eating. Along its stretch of the 7-kilometer shore are plenty of restaurants that offer paluto or grilling of freshly caught seafood, such as Diwal or Angel wings, a type of shellfish that resembles the wings of an angel when opened. Not only is this beach a popular foodie destination, but its shore is also known to be rich in “margaha,” fine iron particles that locals collect with an ordinary magnet.
Best time to visit
It's best to visit Baybay Beach during the Philippines' summer season (March to May) so you won't have to worry about heavy rainfall during your time here.
