Crystal Cave can be found in the municipality of Mabinay in Negros Oriental, which is known as the cave capital of the Philippines. The municipality is home to hundreds of caves, including explored and unexplored ones. One cave that beginners can explore on their visit to Mabinay is Crystal Cave. The entrance to the cave is easily accessible from the road.
Also known as Honeymoon Cave, the cavern has stunning white stalactites and stalagmites and is home to wildlife, including bats, frogs, and scorpions. The local government has built a walkway inside the cave, making exploring convenient. This also prevents people from getting lost and touching the stalactites and stalagmites, which is prohibited.
Tickets and entry
There is a minimal entrance fee of PhP25 per person, which includes the use of a hard hat and a flashlight. If you want the assistance of a guide, you will have to pay an additional fee, which depends on the size of your group.
Best time to visit
Because Crystal Cave is easily accessible, it can be visited year-round. But if you are planning to visit other caves in Mabinay, go during the dry season, which is usually from November to May, as rainfall can make it difficult to access the other caves.
