Enchanted Cave

Enchanted Cave is a natural cave formation that harbors a unique underground pool filled with turquoise water. It is a privately owned resort or nature park that has been a favorite tourist destination when visiting Bolinao, Pangasinan. Located from the coasts of Patar Beach, the Enchanted Cave is said to be a huge coral reef that emerged from underwater as a result of evolution. It is believed that millions of years ago the town of Bolinao was once a part of the sea due to the discovery of Coral Rocks Limestone and Fossil Clams around the area.

The formation of its natural cave now holds emerald green and fresh pool of water within its womb. It is accessible through a 14.2 m descending stairway. The Enchanted Cave’s depth is estimated to be around 3 ft to 6 ft and can fit up to 16 people. It is well lit and well ventilated. However, there are certain areas inside the cave where tourists are restricted to enter for safety measures.

Aside from the main attraction, which is the cave and the underground natural pool, the site also houses a natural searock hill terrain with an outdoor kiddie pool, mini forest with hammocks under the trees, and Enchanted Cave’s miniature village. The place is filled with coral stones on your way into and out of the cave. The site also offers cabanas and a convenient store since bringing foods and beverages except for bottled water are prohibited inside.

The place gives a natural feel while boasting its natural rock formation and underground pool. Its serene forest offers a sighting to different species of birds and monkeys.

More caves to explore

Bolinao is known for its rich natural sites from white sand beaches, falls, and caves. Besides Enchanted Cave, tourists explore two more underground caves: Cindy’s Cave and Wonderful Cave, all in Patar. Both are similar in nature to Enchanted Cave with beautiful coral rock formations and natural spring pool of refreshingly cold crystal clear water.

Cindy’s Cave is a combination of a resort and a farm. It is a family friendly place where the cave is not too deep and is kid friendly. The farm just beside the cave offers homegrown fruits and flowers.
