Hilutungan Island in Bantayan, Cebu, has a thriving marine life and is an excellent diving location for all scuba divers. It is also a popular island hopping stop and Cebu tourist spot, where visitors can relax on local boats with outriggers and snorkel in the waters.

You will be able to see turtles, various schools of jackfish, and several other species. The marine sanctuary is also ideal for those taking our underwater photography courses because of its colorful and vivid ocean floor, in addition to its biodiversity.

Hilutungan island is handled by the local government, making this a safe diving spot during your visit to Cebu province.

How to get there

To get to the island, you can hire a pump boat. You can book a guided tour as well or if you are lodging in one of Mactan's resorts, you can ask the resort to book a boat for you.

Best time to visit

The marine sanctuary is an all-year-round destination, but it’s highly recommended to visit during the summer months, from November to May.
