True to its name, Inflatable Island is the playground on the sea everyone has dreamed of as a child. Opening in 2017, it is considered as the biggest floating playground in all of Asia (equivalent to the size of 10 whole courts). It is full of obstacle courses, slides, tunnels, and a five-story-high unicorn structure with a swimming pool on top of it.
The eye-catching unicorn of the island, named ‘Unicornzilla’ is the one of the main reasons for going to Inflatable island. Its size, swimming pool, and vibrant colors make it fun and Instagram-worthy. There’s also the ‘vortex’, a 30 feet diagonal tunnel that ends in three kinds of slides: a diving hole, a half-slide, and a large, 30-ft slide. For those who wish to stay dry, the Sunflower Lounge has rentable daybeds on the shore good for 4 people, inclusive of a lemonade, chips, or fries, all for a price of PHP 1,500.
Aside form the 20 lifeguards roaming around and available life jackets for guests, there are a couple of requirements to be met before anyone can access the island. Guests need to be 3.5 ft and above, and clothes with zippers, sequins, beads, or anything sharp that might harm the island is strictly prohibited.
Currently, there are two Inflatable islands in the country: one in Subic, and one in Cebu. The one in Subic is found in Samba Bluewater Resort, Olongapo, Zambales, a mere 3 hours away from Manila. It is open from 8:00 am-6:00 pm and has an admission fee of PHP 499 for one hour to PHP 899 for a whole day.
