Mines View Park is one of the famous tourist spots across Baguio pack with shops selling snacks, trinkets, botanical items, and others. Picture taking services with traditional Igorot clothes, horses, dogs and more are also available towards the lower half of the park.
While in the edge of the Mines View Park lies a scenic view of mountains and forest, it also overlooked Itogon’s abandoned mines which are also known as Balatoc Mines.
Due to its view, the observation deck of Mines View Park became a popular destination to take photos of Baguio’s scenery. This spot in the park also provides an open hut inclusive of chairs, to give shade and a resting area for visitors.
How to get there
A few kilometers from central Baguio is the Mines View Park, which is situated from a high altitude, enabling visitors to see the mines and Amburayan Valley from its deck. To get here, ride a jeepney at the terminal located at Lower Mabini Street and ride a jeepney bound for Mines View Park.
Best time to visit
It is an all-year round destination best visited during the warm season and holidays. Take not that it might get crowded with families during peak season. Fun fact: the cold climate of Baguio city is caused by its location, which is 1,470 meter above sea level, maintaining the constant cool temper, earning the name as the summer capital of the Philippines.
