Information about San Joaquin Campo Santo
San Joaquin Campo Santo
In the Philippines' town of San Joaquin, Iloilo, there is a Catholic cemetery called the San Joaquin Campo Santo. Together with San Joaquin Church, the National Museum of the Philippines has named it a National Cultural Treasure.
The Jaro Archdiocese has legal control over the cemetery. The National Museum of the Philippines designated it as a National Cultural Treasure in December 2015, and a marker indicating this distinction was placed at the location in August 2016.
By November 2016, the Archdiocese of Jaro had completed a repair project that involved filling the hole with a suitable blend of dirt, rocks, and cement. This was done through the Parish Administrator, who had been designated by the Archbishop.
